A friend of ours had had their baby boy last night.  Welcome to the world little Gage!  We met our friends through our mutual love of Jeeps and 4 Wheeling.  I have been brainstorming how in the world we can creatively incorperate a Jeep and a newborn.  I mean, with the passion of Jeeps that they have and a fresh precious new baby boy, we have to come up with something!  This morning I remembered that my husband has this awesome 1985 military Jeep tug sitting out in the overgrown grass in a back pasture.  Yes, he likes to collect his Jeeps.  So I went to take a look at it and see if its something I can work with.  I grabbed my sweet baby Norah, the camera and off we went.  The sun was bright this morning and not ideal,  but I think this Jeep will work perfect!  It has a great broad bumper that a newborn can rest on perfectly.  They have an older son, Wyatt so I will be coming up with some ideas on how to have two brothers with the Jeep.    Daddy is also a firefighter so mom and I have been brainstorming some creative ideas for that too.  This should be a great newborn session (or 2!).

This couple called me 2 weeks before mom was due, they had put off maternity pictures until last minute!  They wanted something different, but didn’t quite know what they were looking for.  When we did the session, mom was just 5 days away from her due date.  I thought I had the wrong house at first, couldn’t we all be so lucky to be as gorgeous as her just days away from having a baby!?!   Anyhow, we started with some standard studio type pictures and then we drove to a field on a hill that I found on Hollins University campus.  I don’t think they were thinking this when they wanted something different, but I think the pictures turned out great.  I can’t wait for them to have their baby boy.  He should be here really soon!

Over the next few days I am going to showcase some of the really neat photo products that are available. Its not just about paper prints now! It seems every month a company comes out with something that is even better than the last.

The first items that I am going to talk about is the Custom Image Box & Custom DVD. These are so neat! These boxes are handmade and have a photo cover made from textured satin paper that completely wraps around. I have two designs available, and the one shown here is for a baby boy. The image boxes are sized for either 4×6 or 5×7 prints, and can hold either 50, 100, or 400 prints. This box was made for a birth photography client so it held the sessions 300 4×6 pictures as well as the DVD Slideshow. The Image Box is very well made and has a substantial feel. There is a hidden magnetic closure as well so the lid stays shut. These are great for session images, or as keepsake boxes for baby or child to hold special items.

The custom printed DVD shown above is printed with Everest 600 Thermal printers and represent the highest quality DVD printing in the industry. They don’t smudge, fade, or scratch. They are standard with the Birth Photography package and for clients who choose to purchase the full session of digital images.
