This little baby turned two weeks old when I came to take her pictures. She was 18 years in the making!! What a special little girl. She was a ham!! I have never had a newborn that stayed awake through almost the whole session + never fussed!! She was so alert, content , and peaceful. Momma was able to put her to sleep a few times but shortly after mom would lay her back down for me she would open her big blue eyes! I think my favorite picture from this session is the one where mom is cradling baby in her arms. No words are needed, you can see the love, the relief that her daughter is finally here.
Mom had bought this adorable little hat and diaper cover set.

A few weeks ago I was contacted by an expecting mother, who is also a Lynchburg Photographer (MDK Studios) . Their new baby was due soon and wanted me to come and do a newborn session for them. They kept the gender a surprise, and its a boy!! They already have a 2 year old daughter, so to have a little boy was very exciting! Here are some images from their session. He is an adorable little peanut!! A big Thank You to Meridith and Adeel for having me!!

Here is an adorable little red head! I must say I am partial to red heads, I have two myself! This little baby was past the newborn stage but she was plenty sleepy for her session. Take a look at this cutie!

Recently I was asked to come and take pictures for a wonderful Roanoke family. They were expecting their first little boy and wanted me to be there when Mason was born. Since he was expected to be a BIG baby he had a scheduled due date via c-section. Everything went as smooth as it could, mom, dad and baby did great! I have documented several births at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and I have to say that the staff there on both the Labor/Delivery & Mother/Baby floors are so very accommodating and a real pleasure to work with. They really go out of their way to make sure I can document as much as possible. With this birth I was able to document the recovery & bonding that started, baby & dad going to nursery and dad getting very important first lessons on diapering, bathing, swaddling (one arm out now!) and all the other fun things that come with a fresh newborn.
This family not only had me document the day Mason was born, but also had me come back to their house for a newborn session. He was so sleepy, big, chubby, and perfect! Have you ever seen eye lashes so long!?! Gorgeous!!
